Natural Lift Facial Massage

What is Natural Lift Facial Massage?
It is a non-invasive technique incorporating a unique blend of highly effective techniques from Japanese Amna and Indian Ayurveda Face massage, as well as Facial Reflexology.
It helps to soften and tone the skin as well as to improve the appearance of wrinkles by giving a more lifted and glowing complexion. The massage helps the lymphatic system to eliminate toxins by increasing the blood flow which permits for better blood and nutrient flow and a general feeling of relaxation and well-being.

Purpose of Natural Lift Facial Massage
This advanced method of traditional facial massage treats the surface and also deep facial tissues with highly refined, gentle hand and finger manipulation.

These techniques can:
• Increase blood circulation, enabling capillaries to deliver nutrients more efficiently to the skin’s surface
• Stimulate the nervous system
• Improve lymphatic flow, transporting toxins away from the skin cells
• Strengthen and tone muscles, helping prevent sagging skin and fine lines
• Repair and balance the condition of the skin, minimising the ageing process
• Balance the flow of “qi”, improving the health and appearance of the facial tissue
• Relaxing facial tension and traumas which builds up in the muscles of the face, neck and head causing puffiness, lines and wrinkles as well as headaches and migraines
• Relieve stress symptoms like insomnia, headaches and eye strain
• Aid the removal of dead skin cells
• Enhance mental and physical relaxation
• No side-effects or insertion of needles
• Maintain a fresh and youthful appearance

Benefits of the Natural Lift Facial Massage
The benefits of these techniques work on many different levels

Muscles: Our facial muscles are in constant use from smiling, frowning, crying, eating, yawning, etc. So over time this can cause accumulated tension which prevents the efficient removal of waste products and reduces the amount of oxygen and nutrients being received. The Natural Lift Facial Massage reduces muscle tension and improves the flow of blood and lymph.

Nervous System: Touch has an immediate and beneficial effect on our emotions. Natural Lift Massage can help to calm and soothe the nervous system aiding relaxation and a positive outlook.

Circulation: Natural Lift Facial Massage boosts lymphatic drainage and blood circulation. The lymph vessels are very close to the skins’s surface and the gentle stroking used during the massage has a major effect on improving saggy, puffy and grey skin.

Skin: Over time the skin loses elasticity. Natural Lift Facial Massage helps to promote lost skin flexibility by toning the skin fibres and promoting suppleness and mobility.
Dead cells are loosened and shed, exposing fresh, new, younger cells. The increased temperature of the skin relaxes the follicles and pores which help with the absorption of the massage oil

Energy: The universal life force, also known as “chi”, “qi” or “prana”, is believed to flow through energy centres and meridian lines all over the body, affecting health and well-being. Natural Lift Facial Massage helps to balance these energy centres by using finger pressure on the facial meridians and pressure points, helping to release blockages and promoting energy flow.

A WORD ABOUT SKIN AGEING:

Intrinsic ageing occurs as a function of time, in part due to cumulative damage by free radical activity, and in part due to each person’s inherited genetic blueprint.
It also involves the reduction of the levels of hormones like melatonin, insulin, cortisol and growth hormone. These changes in the function of the skin result in dryness, wrinkles and lesions.
Loss of oestrogen can also reduce the levels of collagen- up to 30% of dermal collagen is reported to be lost in the first 5 years after menopause.

Extrinsic Ageing is the result of several factors that come from outside our bodies:
Stress- physical and emotional: Wound healing is impaired by chronic stress and stress exacerbates several skin disorders.
Sleep: Reduction in skin barrier function recovery after sleep deprivation
Alcohol: High consumption is associated with skin conditions like facial flushing, acne, rosacea, etc.
Poor diet: Skin disorders have long been associated with nutritional deficiencies. For example, deficiency of essential fatty acids can cause the skin to be dry, leathery, scaly and reddened.
Pollution: Depleting beneficial anti-oxidants at the skin surface
Cigarette smoke: The smoke activates enzymes which degrade collagen. It robs the skin of vitamins with 25mg of vitamin C lost per cigarette.
UV radiation from the sun and sunbeds: UVB rays burns and browns the skin; UVA rays damage the connective tissue in the skin dermis, creating the formation of wrinkles. Sunlight is thought to contribute up to 80% of extrinsic skin ageing. Skin lesions associated with sun damage include liver spots, melanomas and carcinomas.
